Solid-body traditionally strung Okónkolo (small batá drum)

This drum was carved from light cedar by batá drum constructor Latchi in Pogolotti, La Habana, who also built the drums for Andres Chacón. The heads are cowhide, the rope 6 mm polyester cord. Havana-style cadeneta. Assembled by Thomas Altmann, April 2005.
