Thomas Altmann's Slingerland Drum Set

Slingerland Set
This drumset was manufactured in the seventies at Slingerland's Niles plant. The original was covered with copper, which I stripped off to replace it with White Marine Pearl. The Snare Drum is a Gene Krupa COB model from the same era. The measurements are 24x14, 16x16, 13x9 and 14x5. The cymbals are 14" Regular Hi Hats, 16" Thin Crash, 19" Medium Ride Avedis Zildjian from the seventies, an 18" Thin Crash and a 12" Splash from the eighties, all Avedis Zildjian. All hardware is original Slingerland, except for the two cymbal holders by Ludwig. I play this set preferably in traditional Jazz settings. It can be heard on the Casino Kings' CD jumpin' (earlybird records), as well on Norbert Susemihl's record Live at Femoe Jazzfestival 1999 (SUMI-records).
